B & B Gates started as a side business run by Barry Polema in the machine shop on his farm just outside of Doon, Iowa. For many years, Barry spent his days working a full-time job to support his family and nights welding hog and cattle gates in a small corner of his shop. Over the years, the business grew and adapted to meet the specific needs of their customers. As turn-key facilities started going out of style, he found that his customers were looking for high quality work, and they were willing to pay for it. The B&B Gates team is a great group of people dedicated to doing great work, taking pride in their product and their service.
In 2021, B & B Gates & Supply opened their retail location along Highway 75 as a one-stop-shop for all hog building needs. Stainless steel waterers, wind guards, cattle working equipment, hog gates, and more are all manufactured in house to create the most efficient design for any operation.
VAL-CO began its partnership with B & B Gates in 2023 supplying hog waterers, feed binds, auger and fill systems, and other equipment that could be used in hog or cattle houses. As that relationship grew, we furthered our partnership to bring warehousing to the central Midwest region.
In 2024, the VAL-CO Iowa warehouse opened, managed by B & B Gates. The warehouse will make swine equipment, ventilation equipment, feed storage and transport systems, and an array of other items readily available to our customers and dealerships throughout the Midwest. Items can be ordered and picked up at the facility to save on shipping costs.
The Iowa Warehouse will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Orders can be placed through your Customer Service Representative.
