2019 – A Year in Review

This year wasn’t always glitter and gold, but despite economic challenges and rampant disease, it was a year for growth and development.

IPPE is always our biggest show, and we were happy to be able to welcome guests to our booth. We shared new products and industry leaders alike. We offered V-Talks and educational experiences. And we can’t wait to be able to share more new and exciting things with you in 2020.

In light of African Swine Fever, the World Pork Expo was cancelled to preserve the integrity of the American swine herd. We were disappointed, like so many others, that we were missing an opportunity to showcase all of our newest swine products and to connect with our customers. So in 2019, we hosted the first annual VAL-CO Pork Expo in Emmettsburg, Iowa. We invited our dealers and customers from throughout the midwest to a one-day conference where they were able to learn about our new products, our new projects, and learn about the economical impact that ASF can and will have on the US Pork Industry.

New Products

This year’s hottest new product is the versatile V-Fan. The VAL-CO V-Fan is a variable speed, direct drive fan. The V-Fan provides higher total CFM at full speed as well as remarkably high CFM/Watt measurements at low speeds. During minimum ventilation, it’s more efficient to use a 54” V-Fan running at low speed than a standard 36” fan running at full speed. A 54” V-Fan at 50% speed can move 13,400 CFM at .05” SP while achieving 53.8 CFM/Watt. That is more than a 300% increase in efficiency!

New Web Features

We’ve added project galleries and salesmen biographies to our website this year, to help you get to know more about us, who we are, and why we do what we do. Have a new VAL-CO install that you would like to feature? Just send us some pictures! We’d be happy to showcase your farm. marcom@val-co.com

We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for the poultry industry, the swine industry, for us, and for our customers.

Thanks for being the best customers, employees, friends, and farm family we could ask for. We wish you all a Happy New Year!
